Editorial purpose

Unmanned Innovation helps people choose and use commercial drone technology for real work. A page must answer a real reader need and contribute more than a rewrite of an announcement, manual, product page, or competing article.

Topics are chosen for audience value, commercial decision relevance, evidence quality, information gain, and the publication's ability to compete and maintain the work. Search demand informs coverage, but it does not override accuracy, usefulness, portfolio fit, or safety.

Accuracy and verification

  • Material specifications, dates, regulatory statements, compatibility claims, program facts, and performance statements must map to a recoverable source.
  • Sources are evaluated for authority, directness, date, scope, and conflicts. Current primary material is preferred where it can support the claim.
  • Conflicting evidence is resolved with the strongest current source, explained when the conflict matters, or omitted when it cannot be responsibly resolved.
  • Headlines, summaries, diagrams, captions, metadata, and structured data are held to the same accuracy standard as article prose.

Claims, attribution, and firsthand language

The publication distinguishes established fact from a manufacturer claim, third-party observation, calculation, and editorial inference. A material inference is labeled when readers could otherwise mistake it for a documented fact.

Phrases such as "we tested," "our flights," and "in our experience" are used only when article-specific evidence has been supplied and reviewed. General aviation or UAS experience does not establish experience with a particular aircraft, payload, program, or operating environment.

Review and publication

Before drafting, the intended query, reader decision, and appropriate page type are recorded. The direct answer should normally appear in the first 40 to 80 words and the scope should be clear within roughly 100 to 150 words. Working title variants stay internal until one accurately represents the finished article.

Before publication, work is checked against a claim-and-source map for sourcing, scope, internal consistency, safety, proprietary information, citations, metadata, accessibility, and link behavior. AI assistance does not remove the requirement for source verification or accountable editorial approval.

Evidence determines length. Every substantial page must add a defensible contribution such as a decision framework, requirements table, acceptance checklist, original calculation, or clearly labeled diagram that is useful enough to cite on its own.

Publication dates are not changed merely to make an article appear new. Updated and last-checked dates are changed only after a substantive review, and meaningful corrections are handled under the Corrections Policy.

AI-assisted tools and accountability

Software and AI-assisted tools may support research organization, source comparison, drafting, editing, code, diagrams, metadata, and quality checks. They are not sources, witnesses, subject-matter credentials, or final editorial decision-makers.

Material claims must still be checked against recoverable evidence, and publication remains subject to accountable editorial approval. A page receives a specific disclosure when the method materially changes how a reader should evaluate the evidence or asset, such as a generated technical illustration, synthetic dataset, or substantial analytical method. AI-created visuals are not presented as photographs, test evidence, or records of real products or events.

Independence and commercial interests

Payment, access, gifts, ownership, or a relationship does not purchase favorable conclusions or undisclosed placement. Relevant conflicts are disclosed where they can affect a reader's interpretation.

The publication currently carries no advertising, sponsored posts, affiliate links, paid placements, or active partner program. A commercial feature requires a visible disclosure and a policy update before it goes live.

Safety, sensitive information, and limits

The publication does not knowingly publish confidential customer or partner information, nonpublic company designs, controlled or export-sensitive material, exact harmful defeat methods, or tactical instructions that create an unreasonable risk.

All material is educational and informational, not operational, legal, regulatory, safety, engineering, or procurement advice. Operators remain responsible for current rules, manufacturer instructions, permissions, risk assessment, and qualified professional judgment.
